Leading nutrition and wellness coaching company Inlighten was founded in 2006 in Roswell, Ga., to help clients eat well, be fit and achieve permanent weight loss. Inlighten focuses on the three keys to permanent weight loss: a food plan, home exercise program and internal discovery of the core issues behind why we over-eat. The company’s founders are experts in nutrition, fitness and behavioral health.
Behavioral Health Expert - Beverly Bird, Psy.D., LPC
Beverly Bird, Psy.D., LPC is a licensed professional counselor in private practice in Alpharetta, GA. Before opening a private practice, Dr. Bird worked in various settings, including community mental health, county mental health, hospitals, and large group practices. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work. Over the past several years much of her focus has been helping individuals with emotional and compulsive over-eating. She enjoys speaking and educating others on the topic of Mindful Eating which put simply, means paying attention to what and how we eat. She is known for her warm and down-to-earth style of helping people understand what holds them back from losing the weight they want and keeping it off for good.

Dr. Bird completed her master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology at Rosemead School of Psychology and her clinical internship at San Bernardino County Department of Mental Health, both in Southern California. She also holds a master’s degree in community mental health from Georgia State University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Nutrition Expert - Gelsie Lessig, RD, LD
Gelsie Lessig, RD, LD is a licensed and registered dietitian with more than 40 years of experience working with clients needing to lose a significant amount of weight. Her philosophy is: eating foods that are a part of your everyday life, together with moving around more and learning to eat mindfully to teach portion size, are the keys to permanent weight loss. In addition to operating her own private practice, Ms. Lessig serves as a diabetic educator at Northside Hospital, a 537-bed, not-for-profit, full-service community hospital in Atlanta staffed by more than 2,000 physicians.

Ms. Lessig completed her dietetic training at The New York Hospital—Cornell Weil Medical Center in New York, N.Y. She lectures to community and corporate groups as well as having appeared on CNN’s “On The Menu” numerous times. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the American Association for Diabetes Educators.
Fitness Expert - Sean Morgan, BS
Sean Morgan, BS, is an exercise physiologist with experience working in the clinical aspect of exercise. Sean has been working with patients in various settings such as cardiac rehab, diabetes education, and the general public with special needs. His passion is to help individuals reach their personal goals through lifestyle changes by incorporating physical activity and exercise in a safe and effective manner. Sean is on staff with Northside Hospital as an exercise physiologist.

Sean received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. He has participated in soccer since childhood and currently plays in a coed league in Alpharetta. Sean is an active community volunteer with various organizations including being a youth soccer coach for the Alpharetta YMCA. Sean also participates each year with the Metro Atlanta Heart Association to help increase heart disease awareness and raise research funds.
